Located within The Cochrane Ranche
The Dominion Government incorporated a company in 1881 and it was known as the Cochrane Ranche Company. (excerpt from Big Hill Country page 155).
The Museum Building's History
Constructed in 1909 by the Davies family using bricks from the Collin’s Brick Yard. Built to be used as a hospital/nursing home and private residence. Moved to its current site in 2014.

Vote for Cochrane Arena at Kraft Hockeyville
Cochrane Arena, standing since 1974, is a finalist in the Kraft Hockeyville competition, with voting open from March 29-30. The prize is $250,000 for renovations and a chance to host an NHL game. Residents are encouraged to vote and support Cochrane’s bid for the revival of their historic rink. Nicole Henson contributed recent photos for the campaign.
Five years ago today, Big Hill Springs Flooded
At today’s AGM, Larry Want commemorated the Museum’s struggle with flooding, highlighting past damages, ongoing exhibit restoration, and showcasing a slide show of their recovery progress.

I have watched Cochrane grow into the large town it is today, and I am sure it will retain a great deal of its character through the many changes.
